ANIME, SWORDS, CARS, BASKETBALL, DRIVING, TRAVELING
Hi there!
My name is Bea (Chen) Qian. Originally from Xiamen (福建廈門), China, I moved to the United States for university. I graduated from ArtCenter College of Design with Honors in April 2024, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Entertainment Design (Animation Track). Currently, I’m working in the media team of Turn 10 Studios (Forza Franchise), a first-party studio at Xbox, Microsoft.
I love everything that's cinematic… “Cinematic”, what a beautiful word. My journey began when I first saw Assassin’s Creed: Unity’s E3 trailer, but instead of getting into gaming, I became very interested in filmmaking. I started making short films based on Assassin’s Creed’s worldbuilding when I was in middle school, and then gradually turned into creating more original short films. During my high school time, I attended Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts’ Summer Film Academy program. I also received a Top in the World score in Cambridge’s AS Level Digital Media and Art subject. But then my interest in filmmaking shifted to animation films because I suddenly got into anime. I started to draw and make animation due to this passion, which eventually led me to study animation in college.
In my spare time, I love to read books, practice historic sword fencing, watch F1, creating fan art and animatics. I also like solo traveling and various sports like basketball and biking. Recently I’ve been super into custom keyboard building.
